Research conducted by the University of Maryland, USA, states thatonly 1 of every 4 respondents who support Israel against Iran attackidea. Nearly 70 percent of survey participants chose to urge the U.S. government and its allies to pursue peace negotiations withthe Tehran government.
When viewed from the composition of political views, voting 79 percent Democratic, 58 percent Republican and 67 percent ofindependent support efforts against Iran's peaceful approach.
Page monitored EurekAlert ABC News said that about 75 percent of survey respondents want the White House to continue theapproach of peace through the UN Security Council, rather than directly attacking Iran on Wednesday.
From the survey, followed by 727 people over a period of 3 to 7 March 2012 it was found that the main reason why Americans do not support the idea of Iran being attacked is because they do notbelieve a military strike would bring great benefits.
